Trivia[]
- This OVA adapts the first two stories “The Sinner and the Scale” and “The Lamb on the Chopping Block” mixed with only Jirō Amakusa being Kōsaku's challenger, excluding Keiji Akagi being Kōsaku's challenger in '"The Sinner and the Scale.
- It features an original encounter of Kōsaku and Sister Angela which leads to a catastrophe in Kōsaku's boxing career and Sister Angela to apologize to his coach, which would be repeated in the first episode of the 2008 TV series.
- Sister Angela rides a red scouter, which makes it the first time she is seen riding on a two-wheeled vehicle. She is first seen riding a bicycle in the manga in the third chapter of the story, "The Lamb Resurrected", which came out the following year.
- Various seiyus provided the voices of other characters in many anime versions of Rumiko Takahashi's manga series:
- Sakai's seiyu provided the voice of Shiratori from Rumiko Takahashi Anthology.
- Yamamoto's seiyu provided the voice of Shiina's young self from Mermaid Forest (OVA).
