Maris the Chōjo (ザ・超女スーパーギャル, Za Sūpāgyaru), literally translated as "The Supergal", and originally titled Supergal (ザ・超女) in U.S. markets, is a one-shot manga story by Rumiko Takahashi, published in 1980. It was adapted into an anime OVA in 1986.
A tough space cop and her furry partner go in search of a kidnapped heir of one of the richest families in the universe.

It was originally released under the title "Supergal", but this was changed to Maris the Chojo to avoid potential copyright issues with Warner Bros.
